Passion + Accountability as a

Inside Sales Representative (100% remote based in the UK)

We are an owner-managed, medium-sized company based in Hennef (greater Cologne area) of Germany and are one of Europe’s leading providers of modular storage buildings, specialising in lightweight construction technologies. Uncompromising customer focus, reliability and quality have ensured us strong national and international growth. Our customers include DAX corporations as well as medium-sized companies throughout Europe and for certain clients, globally. We have repeatedly been awarded the Top100 Innovation Award for our strength and speed of innovation and have received several independent awards as a "Top Employer" in recent years.

As an Inside Sales & Business Development Representative at Herchenbach, you'll be the initial point of contact for project inquiries across various industries, logistics, and specializations. After gaining a comprehensive understanding of each inquiry's type, scope, and specific needs, you'll qualify and categorize opportunities based on our defined criteria. Once all requirements, specifications, and individual circumstances are known, you'll coordinate visits between the customer's contacts and your field colleagues, and then prepare a smooth handover internally.

Our modern CRM system ensures meticulous documentation of all interactions, activities, and information, allowing you to maintain oversight even with multiple concurrent projects.

We're seeking someone with at least some direct customer contact experience, preferably in a B2B environment, although experience in related fields such as customer consulting, sales, or market research will also be considered. Strong language skills in business-fluent English are essential, with knowledge of German being advantageous but not mandatory. We value analytical thinking, a structured approach to work, adaptability, and entrepreneurial talent in handling unforeseen situations. If you're driven by success, committed to personal and professional growth, possess modern business software skills, and desire to contribute actively to a leading German company's international growth trajectory, we encourage you to apply.

Your tasks

  • As the first point of contact for incoming inquiries from prospective and existing customers from our English-speaking markets, you will advise on our product and service portfolio, work out customer-specific requirements and needs, and in the process qualify the specific inquiries according to defined classifications.
  • In cases where several appointments are necessary for further consulting, you will independently determine a customer-specific follow-up strategy. In the further course of the consultation, you clarify all fundamentally relevant questions and hand over the inquiry to the field service after qualification is completed (including coordination of an on-site appointment).
  • You will organize and document all your activities in our CRM and ERP system.
  • Occasionally, you will participate in special projects such as customer satisfaction surveys, data updates, information campaigns on special promotions, etc..

Your profile

  • Successfully completed commercial or technical education and / or further education, alternatively a degree in any field.
  • Experience in direct customer contact, preferably in a B2B environment (e.g. in the fields of inside sales, customer service, customer consulting, account management, aftersales, sales assistance, dialog marketing, tele sales, call centre, market research, etc.). People who have only gained such experience in the context of training, internships, side jobs or as working students are also expressly invited to apply.
  • Strong communication skills in business fluent and eloquent English. Knowledge of German is an advantage but not a prerequisite.
  • The occasional business trips within the UK (e.g. during training or in connection with trade fairs, business events, etc.) are flexible and can be made from your place of residence within the UK.
  • Very good knowledge of MS-Office, desirably first contact with a CRM, ERP and / or merchandise management system as well as a generally high affinity for digital tools and processes.
  • A confident manner, quick comprehension, pronounced empathy, enjoyment of success as well as the will to continuously develop professionally and personally in a performance-oriented but familiar environment.

Your benefits

  • A permanent position with an owner-managed, crisis-proof and internationally growing market leader.
  • Working environment rewarded several times as "TOP Employer" by independent jurors.
  • Modern organisation with highly digitalised processes and tools.
  • Structured onboarding & individual induction at the head office in Germany.
  • Frequent demand-oriented courses, seminars & trainings (internal & external).
  • 30 days annual leave.
  • 100% Home Office with approx. quarterly to bi-annual visits to our HQ and business trips within the UK as required.

Sounds exciting? Then we look forward to receiving your application, preferably with a few introductory words about yourself and your motivation and then, at best, a first digital meeting!
