As a specialist in agricultural supplies, Werny GmbH & Co. KG offers a wide range of products and services, including the development of complete barn equipment for dairy and rearing farms. However, the sale of feed barriers and partitions has become increasingly important, with local pickup and online shipping becoming more prevalent. To ensure availability and maintain fast delivery, the company needed more storage space.

Company owner Friedhelm Werny quickly abandoned his initial plan to build an outdoor racking system. "I would have been very inflexible with a covered racking system," he says. He had picked up a Herchenbach brochure at a trade fair, and upon reviewing it again, he realized: a lightweight building would allow him to implement a professional warehouse solution quickly and cost-effectively.

Werny opted for the insulated Therm+ hall. Three bays are connected to form one large structure. According to the now-expanded plans, one of the halls will also be used for picking temperature-sensitive goods. When work is carried out in a hall for extended periods, as in this case, higher temperatures must be maintained even in winter than in a simple storage building. The insulating properties of the insulated roof membrane, in combination with the inner membrane, significantly reduce the energy required to heat the hall.

Looking at Herchenbach's price examples, I realized that for that price, a steel building isn't even worth considering. Furthermore, the depreciation allowances for a mobile building are significantly more favorable than for a permanent, solid building.

Lightweight hall of Herchenbach
  • In just two weeks, Herchenbach erected a three-aisled, lightweight hall for the Werny company. Each hall is 20 meters wide. Two halls are 40 meters long, and one is 35 meters long. This resulted in a total of 2,300 square meters of covered space.
  • Since the halls are intended for use not only for storage but also for order picking, insulated wall cladding was integrated into the aluminum profile frame. This allows for more efficient heating of the building.

Insulation panels

The lightweight halls have a framework of aluminum profiles into which insulated or non-insulated wall cladding is installed. Walls made of insulated panels offer excellent thermal transmittance values ​​and are suitable for halls that need to be heated efficiently.

Multi-bay hall

Herchenbach's lightweight halls are constructed using a modular system. Components from a building block system are combined to create the desired hall size. Multi-bay halls without dividing walls can be easily combined.

Sectional door

Depending on operational processes and safety requirements, various doors and gates can be installed in the lightweight hall. Thanks to their thermal insulation, sectional doors are the ideal complement to our heated halls.
