Gutmann Building Systems: Material Warehouse
Instant Storage Space
Weather protection: Large temporary warehouse replacing two smaller spaces in about six weeks
Situation: Gutmann Bausysteme GmbH urgently needed more storage space. The existing two spaces were far from sufficient for their storage needs. A smaller Herchenbach temporary warehouse was already standing on their site. In addition, another unrelated company had built a warehouse for Gutmann on the site years earlier. The combined area of these two buildings was needed to be merged into one large temporary warehouse.
Based on their previous positive experiences with Herchenbach, Gutmann Bausysteme GmbH configured a hall from Herchenbach's modular building system that best met the company's storage needs. The order was placed shortly after the personal consultation, and the new hall was accepted approximately six weeks later.
Speed played a crucial role. But the project also presented a planning challenge. The new hall was built on the site of two previously smaller halls. We implemented this very quickly because the materials from the two smaller halls needed to be stored under weather protection.
Flexible construction without a foundation
The advantages of a lightweight building for this project
Herchenbach's lightweight buildings are not only quick to assemble, but also easy to dismantle without leaving any residue. This allowed for the rapid dismantling of the old, smaller warehouse. Thanks to the flexible modular system, approximately 98% of the components can be reused, making warehouse construction highly sustainable.
The modular system provides access to over 500 TÜV-certified structural analyses. Customers can directly and cost-effectively access a suitable structural analysis for spans of up to 40 meters and lengths freely selectable in two truss spacings. This saves time and money compared to commissioning individual analyses. Furthermore, the modular system typically ensures very quick delivery of the components.
Since aluminum warehouse are significantly lighter than steel buildings while maintaining high stability, they can often be erected without a foundation. For the Gutmann Bausysteme GmbH project, the existing ground was utilized. The new building was secured in a very short time using the cost-effective ground anchoring system.
