Warehouse for GARANT Doors and Frames GmbH
2000 m² of usable space in an insulated hall
Lightweight hall with a length of 135 m and a width of 15 m, optimally integrated into the existing structure.
Garant Türen und Zargen GmbH, with its approximately 560 employees, produces 3,630 doors and 3,084 frames per day – and this number is rising. Based in Thuringia, the company is one of the largest door manufacturers in Germany and has been growing steadily since its founding in 1991.
Due to further investments in production facilities, the company requires additional raw material storage space. Efficient workflows should be guaranteed through well-organized warehousing, while simultaneously making optimal use of the available space on the factory premises.
Hall size: Construction extended from the existing building to the property line. This fixed the hall width at 15 m. The hall is 135 m long. This allowed for optimal use of the available space. This is made possible by the Herchenbach modular construction system. Each of the lightweight halls consists of aluminum profiles placed one behind the other, into which the wall cladding and roofing are inserted. The number of aluminum profiles assembled in succession (and thus the length of the hall) is virtually unlimited.
Insulation: The hall is used as a raw material storage facility for medium-density fiberboard (MDF). Insulated panels with excellent thermal transmittance values were chosen for the wall cladding. This makes heating the hall efficient and energy-saving. To further protect the stored goods from condensation, an inner membrane was installed under the roof. This membrane allows moisture to diffuse outwards.
Interior assembly: Since the lightweight building was to be constructed as close as possible to the property line, there was no room for exterior assembly. In this case, it is possible to add the somewhat more complex interior assembly option from Herchenbach's "Full-Service Package". This eliminates the need to reserve space for lifting equipment outside the building.
Cost-effectiveness: Lightweight halls offer significantly lower costs than comparable steel halls while maintaining high stability. Modular elements can be individually adapted to the company's requirements. This was the case for Garant, where the required length was implemented. Furthermore, the hall can be assembled quickly.
Based on our positive experiences with two smaller warehouses from Herchenbach, we contacted them again with our inquiry. Ultimately, the price-performance ratio and the fast delivery and assembly time were decisive factors in choosing a lightweight building over a conventional industrial building.
Offering optimal space

The new, larger hall is being built on the open area that was formerly a parking lot (Image 1). A fence marking the property line can be seen through the opening on the right (Image 2). Communication with Garant was very good; everything was perfectly coordinated.
Hall construction with the hall expert
This is how Herchenbach addresses the needs of your company.
Herchenbach has already completed several industrial building projects with Garant Türen und Zargen GmbH, so they were familiar with their operational processes. However, as with any new project, the responsible Herchenbach sales representative visited the site to familiarize themselves with the specific conditions and requirements of the company. Throughout the entire construction project, a Herchenbach employee is available as a direct contact person, providing support for all construction-related questions. Additional services, such as a preliminary soil analysis, can be added to the "full-service" package. Herchenbach's service team remains available even after the handover of the keys.
