Warehouse for Degotte
Weather protection for material storage
Expert for modular space solutions relies on hall from Herchenbach
Degotte is an expert in flexible buildings. The company, with locations in Belgium and Luxembourg, specializes in modular buildings and offers space solutions for schools and government offices, as well as supermarket chains and the medical sector. Based on a standardized container construction method, Degotte develops customized, even multi-story, solutions that perfectly meet the individual space requirements of its clients. And their clients appreciate this.
Due to consistent market growth, Degotte had to adjust its production capacity. "The customer urgently needed to expand its storage capacity," explains Suzy Kameni, the project manager. To continue offering its customers the same high-quality service, the company quickly required additional warehouse space in the Liège region. Degotte opted for a lightweight, modular building from Herchenbach at its site in Herstal, Belgium.
Lightweight cold storage building
Whether for material storage, logistics, vehicle shelter, or hangar: the Safe+ lightweight building is versatile. The company Degotte uses the unheated building to store materials for its mobile buildings in a weatherproof and theft-proof manner. The large opening, which can be closed with a sliding gate, allows for easy access to the building.
The building and its fittings were adapted to the specific characteristics of the site without compromising its quality or limiting its potential uses. We were able to quickly meet the client's needs. Just five weeks elapsed between the site inspection, the technical clarifications, and the delivery of the building.
Safety through pre-assembly inspection
Additional services can be flexibly added to the "full-service package".
We faced several challenges. A sloping site, pull-out test results indicating difficult anchoring, and a long side that was only accessible on one side,” says the project manager. The company was impressed not only by the flexible product, which could be precisely adapted to the warehouse's needs, but also by Herchenbach's specialization in industrial buildings and their fast, customer-focused service.
Degotte added the pre-assembly inspection to their full-service package. This provides the customer with assurance that the ground is suitable for the cost-effective ground anchoring system. Ground anchoring saves approximately €100,000 and four weeks of construction time because no foundation needs to be poured. "We were able to quickly meet the customer's needs," says Suzy Kameni.
During the planning phase, it also became apparent that the slope needed to be leveled. The aluminum profiles used can be easily adapted to the local conditions by shortening them. Any unused material can be completely recycled. If the building is no longer needed at this location, the individual components are also almost 100% reusable. This aligns perfectly with a company like Degotte, for whom sustainability and environmental awareness are paramount.
