Insulated Warehouse
What is a heated hall?
A heated hall is a hall with insulated walls. It is used as storage for temperature-sensitive goods or as a workspace. The construction principle is simple. The hall's frame consists of a framework. Materials such as aluminum, steel, or wood are used. Insulated sandwich panels are inserted into the framework. The insulation reduces energy loss during heating. The terms heated hall and insulated hall are used synonymously.
Herchenbach builds insulated halls from aluminum profiles. These lightweight halls weigh less than steel halls and are very stable. Aluminum halls have natural corrosion protection. They are constructed using a modular system, meaning the hall components are prefabricated industrially. This shortens planning and delivery times. Assembly takes place on-site. Unlike a steel hall, the insulated hall, available for purchase or rent, can be built without a foundation. The insulated wall cladding is integrated into the hall frame. Because the insulated, prefabricated hall is built using a modular system, the sandwich panels can be replaced if damaged.
Cold storage warehouse or insulated hall: The difference
In cold storage buildings, trapezoidal metal sheets are used as uninsulated wall elements. They provide protection from the elements and theft. However, cold storage buildings do not offer frost protection. They are used to store temperature-insensitive goods. Cold storage buildings are also used as logistics and distribution centers, as well as for vehicle or aircraft hangars.
The insulated hall features wall elements with excellent thermal transmittance values (0.31 W/m²K). The insulated panels provide good insulation, protecting goods from frost with proper heating. Due to the more complex manufacturing process, the wall cladding of an insulated hall is somewhat more expensive. However, heating is more cost-effective and energy-efficient than in an uninsulated building. The wall elements can be installed just as quickly as in an unheated hall.
Building insulated halls at affordable prices
Herchenbach builds insulated, lightweight halls. The prefabricated insulated hall consists of a structure made of aluminum profiles. A modular system allows for the cost-effective realization of numerous hall sizes. Sandwich panels are integrated into the exterior walls of the insulated hall, providing the necessary thermal insulation.
TÜV-certified structural analyses are available for many hall geometries, eliminating the need for costly individual structural calculations. Since anchoring with ground anchors is possible in many cases, a foundation is unnecessary. The industrial tent can be used without a building permit for the first six months.
Assembling the insulated, quick-assembly halls takes very little time. Dismantling is just as quick. The components can be reused in a new building. Expansion is also easily possible.
What type of wall cladding can be used for insulated lightweight halls?
Two different wall claddings can be used in the substructure of a lightweight building: trapezoidal metal sheets in unheated buildings and sandwich panels in insulated buildings. The insulated panels for heated buildings consist of two outer layers and a polyurethane foam core.
With excellent thermal transmittance values (0.31 W/m²K), the stored goods are protected from frost. Thanks to the thermal insulation and good insulating properties, heating costs are reduced. The insulated hall also provides noise protection.
The sandwich panels require little maintenance and can be individually replaced if damaged. As standard, the sandwich panels are available in grey-white or aluminum-white. A range of RAL colors is available upon request.
Insulated halls: How does the pricing work?
How much does an insulated hall cost?
The cost of an insulated prefabricated building depends on several factors. Besides the size and features of the building, the location has a decisive influence. Depending on the wind and snow load zone, different structural profiles are selected for static reasons. The cost-effective ground anchoring system saves money compared to construction with a foundation.
Herchenbach offers buildings for purchase and for rent. Purchasing an insulated building is suitable if it is already clear that the building will remain at the designated location for an extended period. For companies that are unsure of their long-term needs and wish to remain flexible, renting is the better alternative. In this case, no upfront investment is required. The building is only paid for as long as it is used. With the modular system, the insulated prefabricated buildings can be dismantled without leaving any residue at a reasonable price. The structure can be quickly reassembled at a different location.
