Affordable construction with modular system
Prefabricated buildings offer an unbeatable advantage: these mobile structures can be deployed quickly and affordably. While constructing a traditional building can take months, modular construction allows for rapid assembly. A 1000 m² prefabricated building can be assembled in just one week. Instead of a time-consuming foundation, in many cases quick and secure anchoring with ground anchors is possible. Buying or renting a prefabricated building is the ideal, cost-effective solution when a warehouse or logistics facility is needed on short notice.
What is a prefabricated hall?
Mobile, prefabricated buildings, available for purchase or rent, are assembled on-site from industrially prefabricated modular components. This modular system simplifies assembly and reduces the overall cost. By selecting the appropriate building size and accessories, these prefabricated buildings can be optimally tailored to a company's needs at a competitive price.
The frame is typically constructed from aluminum or steel profiles. Wall cladding and roofing are integrated into these profiles. Individual components are not custom-made and can be ordered quickly.
Thanks to the modular system, the mobile prefabricated building can be expanded at a reasonable cost. It is also easy to dismantle, and the components can be reused in future building projects. This makes the prefabricated building both cost-effective and sustainable.
How quickly can a prefabricated building be erected?
A 1000 m² building can be assembled in one week. This includes the time required for anchoring with ground anchors. The prefabricated building is available for purchase or rent as a modular system.
Herchenbach has structural calculations ready for over 500 lightweight buildings. Time-consuming individual structural analyses are not necessary, which reduces the price of the prefabricated building. The building can be configured as early as the initial consultation with our experts. From the first contact to handover of the keys, only a few weeks pass.
How does assembly work?
Assembling a prefabricated building anchored with ground anchors takes one week. Anchor plates are secured to the ground with ground anchors. Then the actual construction begins.
- Frame made of aluminum profiles and wall cladding: The building profiles are inserted into the anchor plates. Depending on whether it is an unheated or insulated building, trapezoidal sheets or insulated panels are attached as wall cladding.
- High-tensile industrial PVC roofing membrane: A high-tensile industrial PVC roofing membrane is then installed. An inner membrane for condensation protection can also be added. Depending on the requirements of the prefabricated building, various gates and doors are available.
- Precisely matched accessories. The building construction experts also advise on which accessories are useful. Since the roofing membrane is translucent, lighting is unnecessary during daylight hours.
FAQs about prefabricated halls
The modular system allows for the construction of mobile, quick-assembly halls for purchase or rent, ranging in width from 5 meters up to large, unsupported spans (an overview of hall sizes can be found here). Double-aisled halls are also possible. Various eave heights are available. The hall length is freely selectable, as the number of hall profiles can be increased as needed with a truss spacing of 4 or 5 meters.
If a site is paved, gravelled, or asphalted, it is generally suitable for the construction of a prefabricated building anchored with ground anchors. A pre-assembly inspection provides added safety and is offered as an additional service when building prefabricated buildings. Construction of a prefabricated building with ground anchors is not possible on topsoil.
Herchenbach constructs prefabricated halls using aluminum profiles. This offers numerous advantages. Prefabricated aluminum halls are significantly lighter than steel structures while maintaining high stability. In many cases, quick and cost-effective ground anchoring is possible. At the same time, these structures are just as resistant to wind and snow loads as solid buildings. The same European standards for wind and snow loads apply to these lightweight halls as to concrete or masonry construction.
Prefabricated halls are approved as "temporary structures" according to DIN 13782. They can be used for up to six months without a building permit. This means that the prefabricated hall, whether purchased or rented, can be fully utilized immediately after assembly. In the meantime, hall construction experts assist in obtaining the necessary building permit. Once the building permit is granted, the hall is approved for permanent construction according to DIN 1991.
Prefabricated buildings for purchase or rent can be erected quickly. However, if storage or logistics needs persist for a longer period, they remain stable and secure. According to DIN 1991, lightweight buildings with building permits are approved for permanent construction. Herchenbach buildings are certified for a service life of 50 years.
Prefabricated halls can often be built on existing ground without a foundation. The aluminum profiles are quickly and easily anchored to the ground using ground anchors. The size and number of ground anchors depend not only on the hall's size but also on the wind zone where the prefabricated hall is being built.
How much does a prefabricated hall cost?
The modular construction and rapid assembly of prefabricated buildings make them extremely affordable. Despite their high stability, prefabricated buildings cost significantly less than steel buildings or solid reinforced concrete structures. The total cost of a prefabricated building comprises the costs for construction, planning, assembly, and (if required) the foundation.
Costs for the building
With modular construction, the individual components are prefabricated industrially. This significantly reduces the cost of the components compared to individually planned buildings. The costs for expensive individual structural analyses, which are usually necessary for steel buildings, are also eliminated. The assembly of these prefabricated buildings is cost-effective due to their simple design.
Save on costs by building without a foundation
At Herchenbach, we construct prefabricated halls using lightweight aluminum profiles. This allows for foundationless construction in many cases. Anchoring the hall with ground anchors significantly reduces costs. A 1000 m² hall costs €100,000 less when built without a foundation.
Prefabricated hall prices
- Prefabricated building prices depend on the building type and features. The most affordable option for an enclosed building is the unheated building with walls made of robust trapezoidal sheet metal (trapezoidal sheet metal building). It offers weather protection at a competitive price.
- Due to the wall cladding made of insulated panels, the price for an insulated prefabricated building is slightly higher. The insulated building is constructed using the same cost-effective aluminum profiles as the unheated building.
- A simple, prefabricated roof structure, such as a tunnel or canopy, provides weather protection at a low cost.
- Prefabricated building prices are also influenced by the choice of accessories.
- By selecting the right accessories, the prefabricated building can be optimally adapted to your operational needs. Consult our experts for advice on suitable gates and doors. Choose the ideal lighting solution at a competitive price for your prefabricated building.
Buy a prefabricated hall – or rent one?
For many companies, buying a prefabricated building is the right financing option, while others prefer to rent. Purchasing a prefabricated building is particularly suitable for companies that already know their storage or logistics needs at the chosen location will be long-term. Renting is a more attractive financing option than buying a prefabricated building if the building is only needed for a short period.
